The Buddha Hand Fruit (Citrus medica var. sarcodactylis) is a fragrant, finger-like citrus fruit, prized in Asia for its intense lemon-floral scent, symbolic meaning in Buddhism, and decorative appeal, as it’s mostly zest and pith, lacking juice or seeds, and is used for zest, candying, infusions, or as an offering. Its unique, segmented shape resembles praying hands, with segments ranging from splayed to closed, and it’s used in everything from perfumes to culinary dishes like cakes and cocktails
